H62 BRASS PLATE

H62 brass means ordinary brass with an average copper content of 62%. The copper alloy with other elements added to ordinary brass is called special brass, which is still represented by "H" and followed by the chemical symbols and average composition of other added elements. For example, H62 means the copper content is 60.5% to 63.5%. Brass is divided into ordinary brass, special brass and cast brass. Cast brass starts with ZCu and is followed by the symbols of other elements and their average content.

(1) Ordinary brass is a binary alloy of copper and zinc. Due to its good plasticity, it is suitable for manufacturing plates, bars, wires, pipes and deep-drawn parts, such as condensers, heat sinks and mechanical and electrical parts. Brass with an average copper content of 62% and 59% can also be cast, which is called cast brass.

(2) Special brass In order to obtain higher strength, corrosion resistance and good casting properties, aluminum, silicon, manganese, lead, tin and other elements are added to the copper-zinc alloy to form special brass. Such as lead brass, tin brass, aluminum brass, silicon brass, manganese brass, etc.

(3) The α phase and β phase in special brass are complex multi-component solid solutions, and their strengthening effect is greater, while the α and β phases in ordinary brass are simple Cu-Zn solid solutions, and their strengthening effect is lower, which can be seen from the data listed in Table 5. Although the zinc equivalent is equivalent, the properties of multi-component solid solutions and simple binary solid solutions are different. Therefore, a small amount of multi-component strengthening is a way to improve the performance of alloys
