A588 CARBON STEEL COIL

ASTM A588 steel includes Grade A, Grade B, Grade C, and Grade K. The ASTM A588 steel specification is based on the standard specification for high-strength low-alloy structural steel, with a yield point lower limit of up to 50ksi, suitable for applications requiring high strength and corrosion resistance.

ASTM A588 steel is well known for its weathering resistance. When exposed to external conditions, its corrosion resistance becomes stronger, even when unpainted. The corrosion resistance of ASTM A588 steel plate is four times that of carbon steel. The application of ASTM A588 steel is very wide. In addition to its typical applications in welded bridges and buildings, this specification is also widely used in rail passenger cars; including transmission towers and telephone towers, freight cars, bridges and gussets, and house shells. ASTM A588 steel also maintains a good strength-to-weight ratio, meeting the high strength requirements of carbon steel with less weight.
